Herculean League Hierarchy

Hercules: Leader of the the Herculean League (HL) and defacto ruler of last haven. A lot of mystery surrounds the choosing of of the Hercules. All Lion Guards enter a divine trance and emerge with a result after some time. The chosen isn't necessary of the Lion Guard or even a Paladin for that matter. He does inherit the lion skin and the club which are both symbols of power and high magical items.

The Lion Guard: Consistent of 12 members they are the father and leader of all the sects within the HL. The are the only sect that can truly bare the name 'Paladin'. Members of other sect call themselves Paragon. This is to keep the name pure and the legacy forever. The main goals of the Lion Guard is to keep the peace, defend the city and the selection of the Hercules. They govern from the island and aim to hold that position indefinitely. The Augean, the brotherhood of the Hydra and Ceryneian Guild all report to them.

The Augean: This sect was born to please the nobles and high honored knights wishing to join the league. First intended to give the refugee nobles something to do but now sprung into a viable sect. Tasked with the mission of delegation, laws and magisters for the people. While these nobles wear a sword and the Paladin lion they hardly participate in acts of combat. There is also a secret splinter within the sect design for espionage and 'black ops'.

The Ceryneian Guild: This sect was created to help the financial side of the league. Food, home, armour and weapons aren't cheap and so a band of merchants where conscripted into the league. Stationed at the port of the island. They mostly act as merchants and crafter's guild but specialize in building unique constructs that is requested. Second to that they maintain the largest training field within the league and most new recruits enter the league under the guilds banner, later to be relocated.

The Brotherhood of the Hydra: is the main head of operations for the lower sects. They are responsible for all the sects within the circle. They act much like the Lion Guard only in lower dosage. Their sect is the last obstacle to scale in obtaining the name Paladin. They are tasked with governing the lower sects and training those worthy of being a true Paladin.

Thunder Shields: as the Brotherhood swelled it was difficult to keep track and send/receive order leagues away. Thus three new sects of the Order was born, The Thunder Shields, Stymphalian Circle, and the Nemean Cubs. While all three are mainly equal, the Ivory Shields was given second in command however all report to the Brotherhood of Paragon.

Stymphalian Circle: this sects consists of the magic users of the league. Magic is mostly unsettled throughout the Order but it's value is evident. The circle has since been pushed off the island to the mainland that is now home to many great mages. Their goal is to research new magic that should arise and give support when dealing any further invasions.

Nemean Cubs: this sect is reserved for the prospect who have showed some connections with the higher powers. All members are potential paladin and clerics.

Swords of Silver: all non devine or magical users are conscripted to the swords of silver. They are the backbone of the Last Haven army trained by the paladins and paragons they may rise to the thunder shields on occation but never are elevated to the brotherhood.

Peace Keepers: this sect was created when the influx of refugees was too big for the league to police. Mercenary's and city guards from other cities where conscripted to create the Peace Keepers. Their main goal is to police Last Haven.

Protectors of the Ivory Bridge: These elite soldiers are stationed at each end of the bridge that separates the island from the shore.

Cerberus Heads: is the most mysterious sect within the Paladin Order. It's goal largely unknown and it's history little. It was founded by the last member of the original twelve, mysterious man of himself. It is the most disconnected and un-ruled sect as well, even by The White Guard. However officially they are a sect of the league but work independently. Many speculate if they even exist and wild theories circulate.

Last Haven

The city of Last Haven is the only remaining city of the late kingdom of Abean. Once called Poseidon Jewel the city was the last refuge during the coalition orc horde invasion. Ruled by the Herculean League, a holy order dedicated to the Olympian Gods. The city has gowned rapidly during and since the invasion. The monastery and the high city, referred to as the Island, is located in a island of the shore joined by a stone bridge. The lower city, referred to as the Shore, is spread from the end of the bridge. A very damaged stone wall separates it from the slums. A wood wall is being build with wood coming from the first colony, Massalia, founded after the invasion to harvest wood. A start in the mining operation in Phandalin is expected to start producing much needed mining resources to the city.
